Al Monro

Al Monro
Chief Executive Officer

As CEO of NextWindow since 2002, Al Monro has been responsible for creating the strategy for the company and building the team for its success. 

Al’s background includes broad experience in technology with an international backdrop.  During his 18 years with IBM, he was a member of the senior executive team in New Zealand, launched a new business for the company in Vietnam, and served as a general manager for IBM Malaysia.  From 2000 to 2002 he worked in private equity, launching a company to invest in business-to-business infrastructure and technology.

He received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.


Martin Riegel

Martin Riegel
Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer

Martin has over 20 years of experience working in high technology companies in financial and non-financial roles.  He joined NextWindow in 2007 and is responsible for the areas of finance, accounting, legal, information technology, and human resources.

Martin has particularly strong experience in technology manufacturing and cost management in both large and small companies.  Before joining NextWindow, he was COO/CFO at Healthphone, CFO at Quantum Leap Packaging, and CFO at Trebia Networks.  During his ten years at Intel, he was controller for the company’s digital imaging and video and New Logic divisions.

He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Indiana University.


Nigel Devine

Nigel Devine
Vice President of Global Operations

As Vice President of Global Operations, Nigel is responsible for the company’s international manufacturing operations, supply chain and New Product Introduction. He is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years experience in the aerospace, military, and consumer electronics industries.

Before joining NextWindow in 2005, Nigel led Dyson’s manufacturing operation in Malaysia as general manager. He has held senior management roles at Cubic Defence NZ and Boeing and spent 18 years at British Aerospace, including four as engineering group leader.

He received his Bachelor of Engineering (1st Class) from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom.


John Newton

John Newton
Founder and Chief Technology Officer

John founded NextWindow in 2000 and now serves as the company’s product visionary. He has been a product designer for a number of manufacturing companies specializing in wireless and micro-current analogue electronic designs. Because a number of John’s designs attracted international interest, a significant portion of his work has involved technology transfers to three companies: Aerospatial GDI (France), Cubic Defense Systems (U.S.), and Polytronic International AG (Switzerland).

John has also worked as a physicist specializing in underwater acoustics and remote sensing for the Crown Research Agency for the New Zealand government.

He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the University of Waikato, New Zealand.


Anthony (“Tony”) Uhrick

Anthony (“Tony”) Uhrick
Vice President, Large Format Displays

Tony is responsible for the direction and execution of NextWindow's Large Format products including touch screens from 32” to 110”. With over a decade of experience in the touch screen industry, Tony has helped drive sales growth into target markets since joining the company in 2004.

Before joining NextWindow, Tony led Planar Systems’ entry into the touch screen marketplace, with responsibility for developing the sales channel through distributors and resellers, including Ingram Micro, Dell, and CDW.  Before joining Planar, he spent more than seven years in sales for several touch screen related businesses. Most recently he was business development manager of 3M Touch Systems, responsible for the company’s new business and strategic partnerships. 

Tony received his Master of Science from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
