22 April 2004
Auckland, 22 April 2004
NextWindow, a New Zealand-based designer of ground
breaking optical imaging technology for touchscreens, and its
Australian reseller, Jazzmile, today announced a deal to
design and manufacture interactive touchscreen survey kiosks
for CeBIT Australia, Australias leading Information and
Communications Technology trade show, 4 - 6 May 2004.
Designed by Hannover Fairs Australia, the interactive survey
will question more than 25,000 attendees on market
information and business trends within the IT and
communications industry, including investment decisions,
medium and long-term planning as well as buying strategies.
According to Al Monro, CEO of NextWindow the kiosks were
especially designed for CeBIT. The interactive nature
of our technology lends itself well to the CeBIT survey and
we are delighted that Hannover Fairs Australia chose to go
with our technology.
NextWindows unique technology has an inherent
advantage in that it provides touch sensitivity to the entire
surface including the surrounding panel area as well as the
active display screen. This larger off-screen touch area is
ideal for larger icons and user-friendly navigation,
continues Mr Monro. The four CeBIT branded kiosks, including
27 touch panels with a 19 LCD screens, will be
situated at strategic locations in the trade show.
Craig Hoskinson, General Manager, Hannover Fairs Australia,
says that the new touchscreen kiosks are a great way to
collect relevant market data from CeBITs vast number of
exhibitors and visitors. Respondents will answer yes/no
survey questions via touchscreen monitors. Bar code scanners
automatically download profile information of pre-registered
trade show attendees.
Irwin Solutions, an Australian based company specialising in
online and wireless scheduling and messaging solutions, will
be responsible for software content development. Irwin
Solutions is also responsible for smartAppoint, an online
appointment scheduling service, deployed at CeBIT Asias
2003 and 2002 exhibitions to facilitate business matching
between exhibitors and visitors.
NextWindow will also be exhibiting a touch kiosk, a back
projection through glass and a 42 plasma
screen at this years CeBIT. Additional information on
NextWindow is available at CeBIT: Stand O36.
