ROSCOE, Ill. — Global Display Solutions, a manufacturer of industrial digital displays, launched its new touch screen LCD display, a key product in GDS’s e-Signage line. The new product is the result of a collaboration with NextWindow Ltd., a designer and developer of optical imaging technologies in the field of touch recognition.

GDS’s touchscreen display provides promotion, information and brand-awareness opportunities in a variety of markets including retail, banking, travel and leisure. The touch screen uses an infrared illuminated frame and custom optical sensor to determine touch point. The touch can be registered up to 1 mm before physical contact on the screen’s surface. The absence of an overlay ensures that there is no onscreen degradation. Also, any object other than a finger can create a “touch;” off-screen areas can be touch-enabled, and the display is not susceptible to scratching.
