USB Diagnostics
USB Config is a program that allows you to check various operating parameters in the touch screen when it is connected to a computer via a USB cable. This is useful for diagnostic purposes. USB Config is part of the Touch+ Software Suite, which you can download from our Software page.

Note
When you make a change in USB Config, remember to click [Save] to save the new settings to the touch screen.

Make sure the power is connected to the touch screen and switch on. |
2. |
Connect the USB cable from the computer to the touch screen. |
3. |
Run USB Config The program should display the following dialog.
If the above dialog appears, then the USB communications are working correctly. If USB Config runs as above, but the touch screen is not working correctly, contact support@nextwindow.com for further instructions. Do not make changes to configuration settings without expert knowledge. |
If the following dialog is displayed, the USB communications are not working correctly. |

If you connect the power, followed by the USB cable and still the above dialog is displayed, you may need to uninstall and re-install the USB device in the operating system as described below. If the USB communications still do not work, contact Nextwindow Technical Support for further instructions. |
Uninstalling USB Device in Windows
| 1. | From the Start menu on your computer, select: Settings / Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager/Universal Serial Bus Controllers. |

| 2. | Right click on [USB Composite Device] and choose [Properties]. |

| 3. | On the Properties screen, verify that the location refers to the touch screen. |
| 4. | Close the Properties screen. |
| 5. | With USB Composite Device selected in the Device Manager list, press [Delete] on your keyboard. The computer displays the following dialog. |

| 6. | Click [OK] to confirm. This will remove the touch screen from the Hardware Device list. |
| To reinstall the USB device, follow the instructions given below. |
Reinstalling the USB Device in Windows

With the 12 VDC power already connected to the touch screen (all models except 1900), connect the USB cable from the computer to the touch screen. The computer then automatically detects the USB device (the touch panel) and, after a short pause, displays a series of messages on screen. |

| (Note: the computer only displays the above message the first time you plug in the USB cable. The next time you plug in the cable, the computer will be already configured for the device.) | |
| Once the computer has successfully established USB communications with the touch screen, the LED at the back of the unit glows green. |
