NextWindow - Setting the Baud Rate

This procedure is for NextWindow TouchEngine2 - serial products only

Under some circumstances, you may need to change the Baud rate setting. In this example, the Baud rate is changed from 115200 to 19200.

First run the TouchEngine2 Config program and select Adv.

Screen 1

The above screen shows the Comms tab, where the Baud Rate is set to 115200. Leave this at 115200 and select Scope.

There is a button towards the top of the screen displayed, called Terminal. Select the Terminal Button.

Double colons :: should be displayed - this is your cursor for communications.

Type in A2 and press Enter. Some characters will be displayed as soon as you press Enter. See the example below.

Note:
A1 = 9600
A2 = 19200
A3 = 115200

Screen 2

Now select Adv. again and select the Comms Tab.

Change the Baud Rate to 19200 (select it from the dropdown list), or as required.

Screen 3

Now select Scope again.

Note: Ensure that Scope is not running. There is a Button displayed towards the top of the Scope Screen. This is labeled either Stop or Start, depending on whether the Scope is running. If the Button is labeled Stop (which means that the Scope is currently running), then select the Stop Button.

Now select the Terminal Button.

At this point you need to commit this setting to the DSP. To do this: from the Terminal, type in W2408 followed by Enter. See the example below.

Screen 4

Select Save to write the new setting to the config file - engine2.ini.

Now close the TouchEngine2 Config software (select the Exit Button) and restart TouchEngine2 Config software. The Baud Rate is now set to the new value.
