NextWindow Serial Driver and Configuration

A serial communications interface is available on the 2403 Touch Panel Overlay and certain specialised products.

NextWindow's serial driver and configuration program are supplied with the Touch+ software suite.

The serial programs are supported on Windows XP and Windows 2000.

 

 Serial Configuration
Allows you to configure the Baud rate and COM port on the PC and to calibrate the touch screen.
 Serial Runtime
Provides serial communications between the touch screen and the computer.

Serial Configuration Program

Serial Configuration displays a window that allows you to configure the Baud rate and COM port on the PC that will be used to communicate with the touch screen. The Baud rate must be the same as the Baud rate on the touch screen (default 115200 Baud).

Serial Runtime Program

Serial Runtime provides the Windows driver for the NextWindow touch screen.

When running, Serial Runtime puts a small icon in the Windows system tray.

Serial Runtime Icon Right clicking on this icon displays a menu that provides options to close the program or to run the Serial Configuration program.

Note - Configuring Baud Rate

 Bullet To configure the Baud rate on the PC, you use the Serial Config program.
Bullet To configure the Baud rate of the touch screen, you use the USB Config program (USB connection required).
Bullet The default Baud rate is 115,200 Baud.
