USB Config is a program that allows you to check various operating parameters in the touch screen when it is connected to a
computer via a USB cable. This is useful for diagnostic purposes. USB Config is part of the Touch+ Software Suite, which you can download from
our Software page.
1. |
Make sure the power is connected to the touch screen and switch on.
|
2. |
Connect the USB cable from the computer to the touch screen.
|
3. |
Run USB Config
The program should display the following dialog.

If the above dialog appears, then the USB communications are working correctly. If USB Config runs as above, but the touch screen
is not working correctly, contact
for further instructions. Do not make changes to configuration settings without expert knowledge.
|
| |
If the following dialog is displayed, the USB communications are not working correctly. |
| |
 |
| |
If you connect the power, followed by the USB cable and still
the above dialog is displayed, you may need to uninstall and
re-install the USB device in the operating system as described
below.
If the USB communications still do not work, contact Nextwindow
Technical Support
for further instructions.
|
| 1. |
From the Start menu on your computer, select: Settings /
Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager/Universal
Serial Bus Controllers. |
| |
 |
| 2. |
Right click on [USB Composite Device] and choose [Properties]. |
| |
 |
| 3. |
On the Properties screen, verify that the location refers to
the touch screen.
|
| 4. |
Close the Properties screen. |
| 5. |
With
USB Composite Device selected in the Device Manager list,
press [Delete] on your keyboard. The computer displays the
following dialog. |
| |
 |
| 6. |
Click [OK] to confirm. This will remove the touch screen from
the Hardware Device list. |
| |
To reinstall the USB device, follow the instructions given
below. |
 |
With the 12 VDC power already connected to the touch screen
(all models except 1900),
connect the USB cable from the computer to the touch
screen. The computer then automatically detects the USB
device (the touch panel) and, after a short pause, displays
a series of messages on screen. |
| |
 |
| |
(Note: the computer only displays the above message the first
time you plug in the USB cable. The next time you plug in
the cable, the computer will be already configured for the
device.) |
| |
Once the computer has successfully established USB communications with the
touch screen, the LED at the back of the unit glows green. |
